When we go back to the year 1990’s and 2000s years ago ,
foods were very cheap and very affordable , we had indomie at that time for about
#50. You go to the market with so much excitement to buy as many groceries ,
even though at that time , there are status of class , which is the poor ,
average or rich but even at that foods
were cheap because even though you have to be rich or from a wealthy family to
go abroad , the cost of flight ticket at that time , its not the same as now
that its been skyrocket , you need to be a millionaire to be able to even
travel on plane even local flight , lets not talk of international flights. I
have never been on a plane before and someday I would love to explore traveling
on plane either on local or international flight. I have been traveling on
roads and recently, I had great experience of traveling to Nigeria states like Ilorin
in Kwara state , Abia state , Ibadan , Ogun State and Ondo state. Just five
state out of 36 states , which means , I still have 31 states to explore , but
traveling in Nigeria on road isn’t as secure as its used to be. Now we have
issues of bandits and boko haram.

To travel on road you already having anxiety of boko haram
or bandit either you go by train or bus or chartered vehicles. I love the idea
of train , I broke that fear even despite the news, I heard about it , when I went
for my radio recognition by Ibr92.5fm on train with my manager , it was a beautiful
vacation , we also did lodge at the nearest hotel , even before decide on a more
classy hotel , we experience the bike man pretending to act like he is a good
person , the hotel I wanted isn’t the one , he took us to the hotel that he was
bribed and thank God , I have my manager by my side , she had a strong intuition
to go for the first classy hotel , I had in mind , so the bike man took us
there with a clean conscience , he didn’t collect money , even at the classy
hotel , I observed some weird stuff at the hotel , the attendant disturbing us very
early to open for what ? we didn’t but prayed and left the hotel very early in
the morning , and got into the train to get back to lagos.
So back to the transportation, its no longer like before, everyone is now
cautious about traveling and the best which I recommend is to go by groups not
as an individual especially , if its your first time. Can we talk about the
food is now very expensive. I was reflecting years back when eggs which I said
used to be cheap earlier in the introduction. Lets move to the cost of gas and
kerosene , this is now gold in Nigeria , people are now using electric cooker
to save cost but electricity tarrif bill is something else , increase fee of
solar plan , for those of us who work remotely and still use solar. The cost of
data have also gone up , everyone in Nigeria is now looking for cheat code ,
which me I don’t subscribe to incase of hacking.
Nigeria keep getting worse day by day , even as a woman ,
our hair lifestyle is now expensive , I just had to go back to rocking my natural
hair braids. Recently I was at the salon just to buy relaxer and make my hair ,
I know how much it cost me , I am grateful that I have few people who support
