“I’ve received up to ₦200K from Instagram conversations, TikTok guys are broke” — lady shares experience with online admirers
A lady has shared her experience of how conversations with men on social media sometimes turn into financial gifts.
Speaking in a video, she said some men on Instagram begin with compliments and end up sending money after brief interactions.
According to her, she once received up to ₦200,000 from a single conversation.
She explained that one of the chats started with a compliment about her appearance, after which she confirmed it and the man requested her account number.
“He said, ‘hi pretty, can I appreciate your beauty?’ I said yes,” she said.
She added that she received ₦50,000 in that instance, while another man later offered to support her phone repair, sending about ₦150,000 after she claimed her phone screen was faulty.
She further stated that the man even spoke with her phone technician directly during the repair process.
The lady said such gestures range between ₦30,000 and ₦200,000 depending on the conversation.
Comparing platforms, she noted that while she gets many requests on TikTok, she rarely sees similar financial gestures there, describing TikTok users as “broke.”
