OPINION: VOTING IN NIGERIA DOES NOT COUNT WHEN THERE ARE VIOLENCE AND CORRUPTION

Last two weeks election I was having calls from people that I should go and vote not but I don’t want to vote but history has given me a clear picture, what is the main reason for me to risk my life to vote when our society is filled with corrupt politicians who will do anything to win the election.

Guess what? So many good citizens of our country witness great violence and two days ago the Governorship election was not the same as Presidential election because people’s experience gave them fear and no one want to repeat the mistake.

Voting count when there is a free and fair election, I keep hearing of people being bribed with money or given foodstuff that comes from the politicians and they will be watching you when you vote.

What about the news of the NYSC Corper who was caught burning people’s vote and was beaten?
We are still living in the 17th century and we need to change our mindset, if technology system is put into place where you won’t want to cheat and feel smart that’s what our leaders are scared of and we exist in a world of paper and pen filled with violence for the love of money and power.

Yes, voting when all this does not count and for those who do not participate you are not to blame because of change stand when we all say no to all this and be joint as one people of the same mind.
